Jan’s first bead project was a green ring she made for her father’s birthday, when she was only six years old. That project (and story) was forgotten and buried deep in her mind, along with her brief beading time with her Hungarian playmate at the age of eight.
She stumbled once again into this field of jewellery making when she was introduced to Swarovski (R) crystals in Hong Kong. For someone who comes for a highly creative and talented family, jewellery was just another addition to Jan’s creative treasure trove.
Jan’s signature is her one of a kind crochet jewellery pieces created in high quality gemstones as well as Swarovski crystals, in sterling silver as well as fine silver findings.
In 2008, Jan was one of the 10 finalists in the Swarovski Abaya Competition held at the Bride Show in Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates.
Jan runs a technical writing consultancy business, with 15 years experience in engineering, healthcare and creative arts. She has also written extensively on the topics of art and fashion for local magazines.
